How AI is Revolutionizing Industries and Changing the Game

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has come a long way in the past few years, and for good reason - interest has skyrocketed!

AI in its current form is vastly different than how it was 10 or even 5 years ago. I first started getting interest with AI tech about 8 years ago when it was integrated into a select few applications (CRM’s, Chat Bots, etc). I started to use a data science platform, Kaggle, to find data to train some chatbots via a platform, I believe it was called LandBot. At that time, I wrote some articles about my experience with AI but have since been lost but I still remember how new AI was.

Unfortunately, the early AI chatbots and applications were not very user-friendly. They struggled to follow the natural flow of human language, often failing to understand what the user was asking. When the bot couldn't recognize a phrase, it would frequently fallback to a default message. In essence, these early chatbots could only understand exact phrases, making them very difficult to use.

My initial encounter with an AI model that showed promise was with a chat bot called Replika.AI, which was developed in 2016. The concept behind this chatbot was to create a 'replica' of oneself that could remember thoughts and events or act as a 'friend' that is always available. I still recall using it for the first time and thinking, "this is not too bad."

At that moment, I realized that AI would be a transformative technology, much like the internet revolutionized the world. I spent countless hours researching, studying, and experimenting with various AI applications to find ways to enhance my own life and to create a business. Despite my efforts, none of the programs I tried were up to par. When attempting to create articles or written content, the results were either irrelevant or far inferior to what I could produce myself. I unfortunately stopped trying around 2019 and began researching heavily in crypto.

The advent of ChatGPT marked a significant shift in natural language processing. As a language model trained on an extensive corpus of text, it has the ability to comprehend and produce human-like language, including colloquialisms and vernacular. Moreover, its recent API release has expanded its applicability to various domains, such as

• personal assistance

• customer service

• chatbots

• creative writing

• vacation/travel booking

• note-taking

• transcribing

• image recognition

With its customizable features, ChatGPT can cater to specific business or personal needs, making it as a current standout AI application. While ChatGPT is currently leading the pack, more companies are investing heavily in AI research and development to stay ahead in the game. The potential for profit in the AI industry is massive and with a wave of advancements expected in the coming years, it's a prime opportunity to explore building your own AI app or algorithm.

As we continue to make strides in the development of AI, it is clear that the technology will surpass our current expectations and limitations. The emergence of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and sentience is inevitable and will be a turning point in human history. With AGI, machines will have the ability to think and reason like humans, leading to the creation of smarter machines that are capable of creating their own AI.

Moreover, AI has the potential to revolutionize many industries, from healthcare to finance to transportation and especially web3. It can analyze vast amounts of data and detect patterns and trends that are beyond human capabilities. For instance, in the field of drug discovery, AI can generate novel pharmacological compounds that have eluded human discovery, offering hope for new treatments for diseases that were once thought to be incurable.

Furthermore, as AI continues to evolve and improve, it will undoubtedly create unprecedented technologies that are beyond our current knowledge and what we thought were our possibilities. This presents exciting opportunities for innovation and advancement in many fields, and it is crucial that we invest in research and development to fully realize the potential of AI. We also need to help make AI decentralized and widely available to all.
